The Pillars of Hermantown
Oppidan responded to the high demand for senior living in the Hermantown market by expanding their “Pillars” portfolio. The project aimed to honor local heritage and create a cozy, rustic ambiance reminiscent of a cottage or lodge. Design solutions strategically balanced cultural significance, elegance, and well-being, while subtly emphasizing safety and health. The billiards room, library, and pub serve as vibrant community spaces that encourage social interaction. The soaring ceilings in the two-story lobby evoke a warm welcome & the open sight lines make navigation effortless. A mantel and various furniture pieces were crafted from trees salvaged from the project site, honoring the environment and connecting residents to the natural beauty and history of the land. The wealth of amenities, complemented by interior architectural features that resonate with the residents, facilitate a smooth transition to a senior community and challenge conventional perceptions of senior living environments.
