The Pillars of Grand Rapids
The Pillars of Grand Rapids is a resort-style senior living community that supports independent living, assisted living, and memory care. The 140,000-square-foot living environment was purposefully designed to reflect the lifestyle of a Minnesotan, elevate the quality of life, and allow residents to age in place. The club room, multiple dining areas, makers space, and theater provide ample opportunities to stay engaged in everyday life, maintain hobbies, and create bonds with fellow residents. The fitness center, sauna, and hand washing sinks located at high visibility intersections promote wellness and improved health outcomes. The luxury chalet design scheme, access to natural light, and biophilic design elements connect residents to everything they love about northern living.
On top of intentionally creating an upscale and convenient lifestyle for the residents, the employee experience was also top of mind when devising the design solutions for this project. The 650-square-foot employee lounge features a kitchenette, a mothers’ room, and multiple seating options to give the staff an area to decompress and recharge. The staff also have dedicated showers, which promotes utilization of the on-site fitness center and enables them to freshen up prior to returning home to their families.
