The design of Sure Cast Foundry’s old building was dated, and the layout no longer supported key business functions. They needed an improved building to amp up the production of their sand castings. To kick off the process of turning their vision into reality, they acquired the open lot across the street from their existing building. BDH conducted site work to ensure the building would be positioned appropriately to allow for the possibility of future expansion. Keeping the purpose of the warehouse top of mind, the design team selected aesthetically appealing finishes for the office that could withstand exposure to sand and fine particles daily. The intricately woven carpet and textured LVT were perfect solutions. The intentional placement of windows and glass offices allows natural light to flow both into the warehouse and the office area to elevate employee wellness, and the locker rooms and break room provide much needed opportunities for respite. The efficient layout balanced with the refined finishes and office amenities supports employee retention and impending growth.
