The Sherman Associates corporate headquarters, located in the historic J.I. Case building in Minneapolis’ Mill District, has been transformed into a unique workspace that epitomizes modern office design while paying homage to the building’s historic roots. The nearly 30,000-square-foot project fosters company culture, accommodates diverse work styles, and aligns with the Sherman Associates brand—all while adhering to historic preservation standards. Over half of the space is dedicated to amenities and collaboration areas, strategically placed to encourage activity and boost employee engagement. A rooftop door was re-purposed as a table and reclaimed wood from the fourth floor was integrated into multiple areas within the office to support sustainable practices. Additionally, a whimsical light fixture in the break room pays tribute to the Old Spaghetti Factory, the building’s former tenant, and the staircase addition unifies the two floors and provides space for company gatherings. The renovated Sherman Associates office is now a destination for employees.
