For many years, Jayhawk Mechanical, an HVAC contractor in Minneapolis, functioned out of two neighboring buildings and experienced operational inefficiencies due to this challenge. The older of the two buildings was demolished and replaced with a new two-story building that was connected to the remaining existing building. The new structure is comprised of enclosed offices, multiple work stations, a conference room, and collaboration areas. The design team was intentional about creating a more open work environment, adding opportunities for team touch points, bringing in natural light, and incorporating warmth with wood detail elements. The new clean building, which is located on a prominent corner lot, adds value to the neighborhood, increases productivity, and elevates employee satisfaction.
