Located in the budding area of Brooklyn Park, the Allina Health Surgery Center is an ambulatory surgery center designed to provide a patient-centered experience in close vicinity to patients’ homes. A soothing colorful concept inspired by the lake shores of Minnesota supports the well-being of the patients by invoking a sensory experience throughout the facility. Warm tones welcome patients into the lobby, while cool tones promote healing in the recovery bays. Patient rooms line the exterior perimeter of the building allowing natural light to flow from the pre-op and post-op rooms into the nurse stations to simultaneously support the well-being of the staff. The design solutions strategically implemented on this project fostered efficient flow and supported the client’s goal of decreasing the cost of patient care while effectively responding to the patient needs.
