BDH partnered with Gamma Real Estate to reposition The Great Northern Building to bring new life into downtown St. Paul. The Great Hall, which was formerly a wide open area used for wedding receptions and large events, was repurposed as amenity space for all users of the building. The multitude of furniture groupings support various uses ranging from socialization to collaboration to respite, and they allow numerous building occupants to use the space concurrently. Named to the National Register of Historic Places, BDH intentionally balanced preservation with renovation. The stately columns, dignified light fixtures, and historic flooring were preserved while finishes were updated, a grand entrance was added, and audio visual equipment was incorporated into the space.
